Dr. Donald S. Wood received his veterinary degree, with honors from The Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. He has lived all over the United States and Canada, finally migrating to sunny southern California. The place he was meant to be!

After graduating from WCVM, Dr. Wood did a one-year internship at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City, and then he did a three-year surgery residency at Michigan State University. After MSU, he wanted to venture to the "warmer" climate, accepting a surgical position at a specialty practice in Los Angeles. Dr. Wood's passion is to perfect all aspects of small animal surgery from start to finish with attention to detail at every level of practice. Dr. Wood is proficient with numerous orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, with a special interest in knee surgeries (ruptured cruciate ligament repair).

Dr. Wood is the proud father of three very active children and first grandchild, Astrid.  His oldest daughter Brandi is a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist (OB-GYN) in Atlanta, Ben is a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, and Ava is attending Oklahoma State University majoring in Microbiology/Cell & Molecular Biology: Pre-Medical Professional major.  Ava is on the OSU Cowgirl Tennis Team, Go Pokes!  In his spare time, Dr. Wood enjoys rowing on his Peloton Row, hiking throughout San Diego County, and spending time with his family and French Bulldog, Miss Pearl!
